Recipe 2: Collective Student/Course Blog
Drupal Based Collective Blog Site. i.e. Sam and Mitchell's New Media Classes.
-Increased communication among students.
-Ability for students to find students with similar interests/study areas across classes/campus.
-Weekly 'Progress' Blog. Ask students to blog once per week regarding their creative work, conceptual development or assignment progess.
-'Context' Blog. Ask students to reflect on current news and events in their field of expertise.
-Teachers can better assess students engagement with class.
-Creates opportunity for students to mark their progress and development independantly.
-Public eye encourages students to take pride in their blog posts and subsequently their university work.
-Most engaged students set 'benchmark' for more detached students.
-Encourages students to be reflexive and develop conceptual and writing ability.
